The Seventh Stone

A vacation on Little Exuma turns into an inherited vendetta when Remo and Chiun encounter a wealthy family whose ancient inscription prescribes a final reckoning with Sinanju. As threats draw Remo away from rest and the family’s descendants converge, the two uncover the meaning of the “seventh stone.”

The Woburn family descends from Prince Wo, whose refusal to publicly pay Master Pak’s Sinanju tribute led Pak’s pursuit to drive the prince and his followers across the world to Little Exuma. A stone orders the descendants to wait and use time, then divide and kill two Sinanju “plums.” In the present, Remo kills Colombian trafficker Juan Valdez for murdering children and witnesses’ families, then develops anger/restlessness that Chiun interprets as a Sinanju recovery period. Smith orders Remo to rest in the Bahamas. Reginald Woburn embraces the family legend, murders Rafe Stokes, trackers, Bonefish Charlie, Warner Dabney and Basket Mary, and recruits or summons Wo descendants to attack Remo.

A later conversation describes the President attack and elaborate nerve-gas bomb threat as staged to draw Remo into view; high-speed footage lets Woburn analyze Remo, and the hired shooters’ shells explode. The source does not explain Du Wok’s recruitment. Remo survives the tide trap at a cave and an underwater net/frogman attack. Kim Kiley, with whom Remo has become intimate, is identified in Smith’s records as born Karen Wolinski and joins Reginald’s plan. She participates in the reunion ambush. The Wo family uses acrobats, blinding mirrors and a false distress recording to make Remo and Chiun believe the other is endangered. Remo kills Kim and Chiun kills Reginald and several attackers.

Lee Wofan, the new Wo prince, publicly acknowledges Master Pak’s service, offers tribute, and ends the feud; Chiun destroys the stone. The narrative reports Ree Wok absent after the Wok-house explosion and appoints him head of the clan in ch05, shows him alive at the reunion banquet in ch10, then depicts his funeral in ch13; it does not state when or how he died.

Language metadata is “ru” although narrative is English.

Full indexed-text coverage does not authenticate a licensed print edition or establish published-edition completeness.

The story includes racialized and culturally prejudicial narrator/character descriptions; they are retained only as attributed source portrayal.

Several ancient-history, Indigenous-history, U.S. chemical stockpile, political and scientific claims are fictionalized narrative claims, not externally verified facts.
