In the narrative foreword, Nausicaa is forced into Delphi’s Pythia role after inhaling vapor from a fissure; she gives a prophecy ending with “Sinanju.” In Wyoming, Esther Clear-Seer leads the Church of the Absolute and Incontrovertible Truth at Ranch Ragnarok. Mark Kaspar arrives with an ancient serpent-carved urn and recruits her into an oracle scheme that uses girls as Pythia vessels above sulfurous fumes. Esther’s church had previously bilked members with a false apocalypse. Wealthy visitors and political figures pay for or heed the oracles. Meanwhile, Remo investigates abuse and deaths at a Tampa retirement community, then returns to Wyoming with Chiun after Smith briefs them about the Church, missing girls, and an FBI agent gone silent.

Kaspar turns the oracle operation into political leverage with former governor Michael Princippi: he pressures congressional leaders, announces a Wyoming Senate candidacy, and works against Senator Jackson Cole. Esther abducts Bonnie Sweetwater, Candy Clay, Allison Forrester, and Cole’s daughter Lori; Candy dies during Esther’s handling, and Allison is later recovered unconscious with severe impairment. Remo confronts the Church at the ranch, is shot by Lori while she serves as a vessel, and inhales yellow vapor. Kaspar treats the force in the vapor as the Pythia and Apollo; Remo experiences episodes of lost control, while Smith initially considers a drug explanation. Chiun recounts the Master Tang story as Sinanju lore.

Remo later enters a Bronx Zoo python enclosure while apparently controlled by the Pythia, but struggles back toward control. At Thermopolis’s Hot Springs State Fair, Truth Church gunmen attack Cole; Smith and Chiun defend him. Remo returns to the Pythia chamber, where the struggle with the Pythia and Apollo is portrayed through his inner battlefield. He regains control, kills Kaspar in the fissure, frees Buffy Brand, and corners Esther, whose final fate is not shown. Smith, Chiun, Remo, Buffy, and Lori leave the ranch; Remo says Buffy should recover and Lori’s mind is gone. Remo detonates explosives that destroy the ranch, though yellow smoke remains visible above the site. Months later, demolition worker Nick Biel retrieves the urn and yellow powder at Princippi’s direction; the epilogue does not explain what Princippi intends to do with them.

The OPF language declares ru although the supplied narrative is English; transcription accuracy remains unverified.

Indexed chapter 21 repeats the printed heading 20. Preserve encountered-order locators and printed labels; the heading anomaly alone does not establish missing prose.

The narrative foreword and embedded epilogue are included in the read. Narrator, character-reported, legendary, and supernatural claims remain attributed to the novel and their stated scopes.

The title-level bibliography supplies this writer attribution. credited_authors is null pending title-page/cover verification; do not infer that marketed creator names drafted this volume.

  • At ch09:p0059, Smith receives a late call from a familiar hoarse voice.
  • At ch09:p0081–0083, the unnamed President reports that his wife spends time in the Red Room talking to Eleanor Roosevelt; Smith questions whether she is claiming to talk to Roosevelt, and the President says he sometimes hears two voices.
  • These clues permit a qualified Clinton/Hillary compatibility inference, but the novel gives no personal name or date; Eleanor Roosevelt is a named historical reference, not the wife’s identity.

unresolved; qualified compatibility hypothesis

The source never supplies the President’s personal name or a story date. The hoarse caller and account of the President’s wife imagining conversations with Eleanor Roosevelt, followed by the President saying he sometimes hears two voices, are compatible with a Clinton/Hillary allusion. This remains contextual historical inference, not an observed identity or proof of authorship/date.
