Contains spoilers for the series.
Rad Rex is a television actor best known in the series as Professor Wyatt Winston on As the Planet Revolves, the soap opera watched by Chiun, Remo Williams’s teacher in Sinanju. Chiun’s devotion to the program and its star turns Rad into a recurring reference in Remo and Smith’s world.
Story
In The Destroyer, Chiun’s request for an autographed photograph leads Smith and Remo to arrange one. Rad’s signature praises Chiun, though the actor’s behavior around the autograph suggests the exchange is a favor extracted through the demands of a television production.
Book 22 still places Rad in As the Planet Revolves, but calls his soap character Dr. Wyatt Winston rather than Professor Wyatt Winston. Book 37 recalls him in the separate role of Dr. Bruce Barton on a medical show. These are roles played by Rad, not alternate identities for the actor.
