Sam Beasley, often called Uncle Sam Beasley, is a wealthy corporate magnate and recurring adversary of Remo Williams. His enterprises exploit spectacle, technology and political influence. The novels repeatedly revise the characters’ understanding of his condition and whereabouts, so apparent death and later survival claims require attention to each story’s scene.
The Beasley Adventure
In the Cuba crisis, Beasley’s stated plan is to turn Cuba into a theme-park nation and corporate tax haven. The novel depicts the scheme disrupted before he achieves that goal. His operation uses animatronic soldiers in a staged invasion; the defenders initially mistake them for living attackers.
Survival and pursuit
Remo changes the setting on an external device controlling Beasley’s heart rhythm and leaves him breathing but helpless; the story says he is detained alive at Folcroft. In the following novel, Beasley escapes and remains at large. A later revelation shows that his voice and preserved head remain part of his corporate operation, complicating earlier assumptions that he was dead.
Narrative uncertainty
Beasley’s story is sometimes filtered through Chiun’s historical storytelling. When Remo challenges one account of Beasley’s killing, Chiun says his histories need not correspond to actual events and that a victor may write as he pleases. His version therefore remains an attributed account rather than neutral confirmation.
Book appearances
- #91Cold Warrior
Cartoonist and Beasley Corporation founder revealed as the Director of the covert operation; he arranged suspended animation after a 1965 heart warning, suffered a coronary about a year later, and was revived with an externally controlled radio-animatronic heart. Remo leaves him alive but helpless, and he is detained at Folcroft.
- #97Identity Crisis
Actual revived animator and entertainment-company founder confined at Folcroft. Gerling mistakenly diagnoses his identity claim as delusion, while Smith’s retrospective narration confirms his revival and Cuba operation. He leaves Folcroft; the later apparently returned cell occupant is revealed as Purcell, not an actual Beasley return.
- #98Target of Opportunity
Legendary animator and theme-park operator, an animatronic/cybernetic figure believed dead for decades; he escaped CURE detention and remains at large while Remo searches for him.
- #99The Color of Fear
Founder of the Sam Beasley Corporation, believed dead but revealed to be present as a preserved head and as a voice/figure in the operation.

Source notes
Book 91 identifies Uncle Sam Beasley as the founder of both Beasleyland and Beasley World (ch16:p0071), describes his cryogenic revival and animatronic heart (ch22:p0039, p0049), and ends with him in Folcroft's security wing (ch30:p0001, p0010). Book 97 explicitly recaps the same Florida Sam Beasley World invasion and 1965 cryogenic history (ch26:p0025–0026), then depicts the actual Beasley leaving Folcroft (ch28:p0033); Book 98 calls him the real Uncle Sam and says he remains at large (ch06:p0004; ch33:p0022); Book 99 identifies the returned founder and his mechanical body, then shows the preserved head as the basis of the corporation's return plan (ch08:p0063–0071; ch32:p0050–0051). This supports one recurring person across the four existing observations. Lead checked primary contexts; plans, impostors and different physical parks remain scoped. Gerling’s diagnostic perspective is corrected by Smith’s actual-founder recap; later cell impersonation is excluded. Conflicting death-date accounts remain local.
